Family-based permanent residence
The Dallas, Frisco, and North Texas lawyers of Rabinowitz & Rabinowitz, P.C. have a decades long history of representing individuals in marriage-based and other family-based permanent residence cases. Our mission is to do everything we can to ease the anxiety which many applicants feel. We work diligently to pursue the smoothest and quickest possible path to case approval. We document cases thoroughly and keep clients informed at every step in the process so that they know what to expect. It is a privilege to assist applicants in fulfilling their family dreams, knowing that results in a changed family tree. We look forward to meeting with you to determine eligibility for family-based U.S. immigration benefits.
Family-based immigrants may benefit from filings made by their U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident close family members.
U.S. citizens may file for “immediate relatives” including a spouse, unmarried children under age 21, and parents. There is no numerical limit on the number of immediate relatives that may be admitted as immigrants each year, so there is no waiting period for visa issuance outside of government processing time. U.S. citizens may also file for their unmarried sons and daughters age 21 and over (Family 1st Preference), married sons and daughters (Family 3rd Preference), and brothers and sisters (Family 4th Preference). Each of these Preference categories has a visa waiting period in addition to government processing time.
Lawful permanent residents may file for their spouses and unmarried children under age 21 (Family Preference 2A), and for their unmarried sons and daughters age 21 and over (Family Preference 2B). Each of these Preference categories has a visa waiting period in addition to government processing time.
